Ms. Boitumelo Vavani

Ms. Boitumelo VavaniMs. Boitumelo Vavani is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 16 years of experience specializing in patient advocacy, behavioral interventions, evidence-based therapy, and case management. Ms. Vavani is currently employed as a lecturer by the University of Botswana in the Department of Psychology. Her work involves teaching, research, course development and some administrative tasks. Furthermore, she serves as a clinical supervisor and provides mentorship to students studying psychology. She has also provided diverse psychological services to members of the community, including psychotherapy and psychoeducational assessments. Ms Vavani also consults as a clinical psychologist. She provides evidence-based therapies to aid positive behavioral changes to individual clients and to the community at large. Her current research work is in designing ehealth interventions (self-help; guided and unguided) with focus on treating depression and other psychological conditions comorbid with chronic conditions such as HIV. Ms. Vavani is also working on an online self-help program to reduce depressive symptomatology among University students in Botswana.

For this project, Ms Vavani is a specialist in psychological intervention design, assessment, and resilience in educational contexts. She will develop targeted training modules to strengthen student resilience and equip educators with practical tools for emotional support and crisis response related to climate-induced stressors.
