Gibrill Amid Sesay is the Director of Quality Assurance and International Affairs at Central University, Sierra Leone. He holds a BSc in Social Work, an MSc in Sociology, a Master of Public Administration, an MSC in Digital Education and a Master of Philosophy in Sociology. His academic and professional journey has cultivated deep expertise in academic quality assurance, curriculum development, and institutional governance. Mr. Sesay’s research interests focus on academic integrity, assessment practices, the integration of African indigenous knowledge in higher education, and the role of digital technologies in enhancing teaching and learning in developing contexts. He has served as a lecturer, researcher, and consultant, collaborating with national and international partners to strengthen higher education systems. His affiliations include membership in the United States Exchange Alumni network, the Council for the
Development of Social Science Research in Africa, a Mastercard Foundation Scholar, and a Digital Education Practitioners Network member. His contributions span policy development, accreditation processes, and capacity building for academic institutions in
Sierra Leone. As an AFRIAK Fellow, Mr. Sesay is motivated by a vision of promoting transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in higher education, aligning local practices with global standards to empower communities and foster inclusive progress.
